From a single conversation to ongoing vigil care, here’s how doula support works, what it costs, and how to begin.
Before We Go offers death literacy workshops and community conversations for the public, community organisations, and healthcare settings — practical, accessible sessions designed to help people build a better relationship with death, before they have to.
If you work in a hospice, hospital, palliative care, or community health setting and are interested in referring clients to Before We Go, or in bringing death literacy education to your team, please get in touch.
We’re always glad to talk through how doula support can sit alongside the care you’re already providing.
Get in touchAll doula sessions begin with a free 30-minute introductory conversation. This is your chance to ask questions, share what’s happening, and decide whether working together feels right. There is no pressure and no obligation.

Gathering stories, memories, laughter, love, and lessons to create a ceremony that honours their life and offers a meaningful space for remembrance, reflection, and farewell.
All fees are in NZD and inclusive of GST. Workshop and community education pricing is available on enquiry, see above. If cost is a barrier to accessing support, please reach out — a small number of places at reduced rates are available to those in genuine financial hardship. No one should navigate end of life without support because they can’t afford it.
The Before We Go handbook and gift kit are self-guided companions for end of life — no booking required, ready whenever you are.
